Veterans Day Nov 11, 2017

A veteran is defined by federal law, moral code and military service as “Any, Any, Any”… A military veteran is Any person who served for Any length of time in Any military service branch.

With the election over I turned the TV back on and saw an amazing commercial that said ‘how can we expect young men and women to step forward to defend our country when they witness us treating our veterans disrespectfully’.

What an amazing thought!  Do you know a veteran – reach out to them NOT ONLY on Veterans day but often, let them know that their sacrifice away from family, of working long hours (with little pay), of their time and energy, and especially the loss of some of their dearest friends – it was appreciated, respected and that we thank them.

Our freedoms are not and have never been free – we enjoy a country where we can voice our opinions, go where we want, do jobs we choose, go to colleges or not, and even serve IF we want to – it is all because they fought for us.

“Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you; Jesus Christ and our American Military. One died for your soul; the other for your freedom.”

Thank a Veteran Today, and Every day after!

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Col 3:16
